We have Chaplains in a number of places, and Belper Chaplaincy is part of Chaplaincy Derbyshire, which is a combination of the previous Rural Chaplaincy (farms etc) Workplace Chaplaincy in Derbyshire, Derby City Centre Chaplaincy etc. I am on the operational team for Chaplaincy Derbyshire.

We have chaplains in Belper in many of our shops, in Spencer Grove and Osmaston Grange, in Crich and Duffield fire stations, a presence in our Hope for Belper Food Bank and community hub, Chevin House, in Codnor School, plus exploration into other areas.

The principle is, where there are people there could be a Chaplain! A prayerful presence, a listening ear, walking alongside people…

We enjoyed a very interesting Chaplaincy training day in October at St Peter’s, Derby.

We have a strong contingent from Belper!

Chaplaincy Derbyshire has a new logo, showing the love of Jesus combined with the map of Derbyshire.

We are a listening ear for people, we are caring and we offer prayer for those that ask. Chaplains can be wherever there are people, walking alongside them, like the road to Emmaus.

We think of the passage in Luke 10 where Jesus sends people out into the world:

“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two[a] others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go!”

Prayers please 💙✨🙏

The next training day is on Monday 26th February 2024 at St Peter’s Derby.
