In Amber Valley our Synodal discussions arose a deep desire to:
- Realise the full potential of the Second Vatican Council
- To present the Gospel afresh in new and more winning ways
- To evangelise beyond the circle of those we currently reach
- To be more challenging in the formation of mature disciples
We believe our churches should:
- Give active Christian witness in practical service to the poor and marginalised
- Join hands with our ecumenical brothers and sisters in Christ as we reach out more generously to the communities in which we live
We saw the need to review the ministry of welcome we offer:
- To be more fully inclusive, and welcome all-comers without exception
- To expect all the laity to assume co-responsibility with the clergy in the life and mission of the Church
- And in particular that women should be afforded an equal role within the leadership of our parish communities.
